I am very grateful to people who have helped and supported me during the time that I write this thesis. I'd like to thank my teacher, Wu Jianlan. At first I have no idea what title I should choose. Then my supervisor asks me to find some master’s theses and then I will get some inspiration to choose the title of my thesis. And she also gives me some suggests about what kind of direction may suit me and what kind of thesis is easy to research and write. My supervisor she reads the all draft, and she points out my errors and gives me suggests. Due to her encouragement, I can fulfill this thesis.

On the Translation of Children’s Literature from the Perspective of Skopos theory----A case Study of the Two Chinese Versions of The Little Prince

Abstract: In fact, when I sought material about my thesis, I found that there were not many studies on children's literature, and it has been at the edge of development. Now some articles only have a very simple understanding of children’s literature translation. Children’s literature has a profound effect on children’s spiritual growth, and there are much outstanding works of children’s literature in the west, so we should learn how to improve the translation of children's literature and find the theoretical guidance for children’s translation.

Skopos theory is developed by Rice and Hansi Fu Meie. Children’s comprehension ability and reading ability are at the primary stage, so when translating children's literature must be simple to make children easy to understand, and cannot tamper with the original meaning.

There are six chapters in my thesis. The first chapter is the introduction of my thesis, which gives a general introduction to why this research is done and the structure of the article. The second chapter is my own summary of the literature review. The third chapter studies children's literature and children's literature translation, and joins my own understanding. The fourth chapter introduces Skopos theory in my point, as well as characteristic and development of the perspective of Skopos theory. The fifth chapter is the combination of theory and practice, linking the Skopos with the translation of the Little Prince, and analyzing the application of the teleology in the translation of the Little Prince. The sixth chapter is conclusion which to review and summarize the full text, and once again emphasizes the influence of Skopos theory on children's Literature Translation and point out its shortcomings. It concludes that the original meaning should be retained in the translation, and the children's needs and status can be met in a vivid and vivid language.

摘要

其实在我查资料时发现没有很多对儿童文学的研究,而且谈论儿童文学翻译的文章也没有什么实质性的看法。幼儿文学是启蒙文学,对孩子的精神成长具有深远的影响,而且西方有很多优秀的儿童文学作品所以我们应该去研究如何做好儿童文学翻译。

目的论是由赖斯和汉斯・弗美尔发展起来的。翻译儿童文学应有其独特的方法。儿童的理解能力还有阅读能力都处在初级发展阶,所以在翻译儿童文学的时候一定要简单形象化使儿童易于理解,又不能胡乱篡改原文的意思。

本论文由六章组成。第一章是整个论文的引言大概介绍了为什么做此研究还有本文的架构。第二章是对以前的专家学者对我所研究的论题所做的研究的回顾。第三章是对儿童文学翻译的介绍,儿童文学的定义、特点,儿童文学翻译的内容特点。第四章是对目的论的介绍,目的论的特点,发展。第五章是理论联系实践,将目的论与小王子的翻译联系起来分析目的论在小王子译本中的应用,并结合两个版本的小王子译本进行对比进一步论证目的论在儿童文学翻译在作用。第六章结论,对整个论文的内容再次总结,并且指出论文的不足。要想把儿童翻译做好,一定要保留原文的意思,但是使译文更加生动形象。
