During the process when I started writing until I finished this thesis, I faced lots of challenges and had many precious experiences, which are really meaningful to me and let me know deeper about my major. Every time when I make errors my tutor Ms Xiong always helps me to correct them patiently and she has given many useful suggestions to me. Because of her, I finally finished this thesis, and I am really grateful for everything she has done for me.

In addition, I want to say something to all the teachers who had taught me during these four years. I had learned a lot from each of them, not only some basic courses but also the wisdom from life, and they were so kind whenever I needed help, they always gave a helping hand to me.

Abstract: With the development of technology, the usage of web-based English class gradually becomes popular and provides a broader knowledge resource to students. However traditional English teaching, despite of its defects, is still the main way for our students to absorb new knowledge. This thesis illustrates the status of both traditional English teaching mode and online English class and makes a comparison between their advantages and disadvantages. Then it provides some reasonable suggestions to English teaching. In addition, it also projects the future English teaching trend and predicts the main feature of it. Finally, the thesis touches upon some aspects which will play the important roles in future English teaching and offers suggestions to teachers to improve their teaching ability.
