Firstly, I would like to express my great gratitude towards my tutor Professor Zhang Jun, a reliable and diligent teacher, for his valuable instructions and effective suggestions. Under his sincere and intellectual guidance, I have finished my paper. Then, I will give my thanks to my lovely and enthusiastic classmates. They always support and help me when I meet infrastructure and obstruction. We have spent four years together and went through the joys and sorrows in the college. We have deep feelings and such emotion will stay in our memory. I have learned a lot from them and improved myself to a great extent.

Besides, my appreciation goes to my beloved family. I am really grateful to my mother for her unselfish contribution and silent support. She spares no efforts to help me and trust me. A Study on Translation Texts for the Exhibits in Nanjing Museum

Abstract: Museum is an important window to spread the national culture and an important channel to show the country’s soft power. The exhibit translation texts have combined all the knowledge of culture, science and the achievements of historical relic workers. The translation texts in Nanjing Museum show the history and culture of China which will help people all over the world to know China better. Through the comparisons with the typical features of contemporary translations, this paper has listed the translation features in Nanjing Museum, aiming at improving the exhibits’ translations to introduce the Chinese traditional culture.

The paper is made up of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the fundamental information of the Nanjing Museum and translation texts of porcelain and clock. The second chapter concludes the content and the features of porcelain translation texts in Nanjing Museum. The third chapter concludes the content and the features of the clock translation texts in Nanjing Museum. The forth chapter details the advantages and disadvantages of the translation in Nanjing Museum and has also provided some suggestions to the translators, museums and government to improve the translation. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, giving a brief summary to the whole paper.

摘要：博物馆是宣传民族文化的窗口，是国家软实力的重要体现。展品翻译是集文化和科技于一体的知识的展现，也是历史文物工作者劳动的结晶。南京博物院的文物展品翻译展示了中国的历史文化，帮助世界人民更好地了解中国。本文通过对当代翻译的特色对比研究，展示了南京博物院的文物展品的翻译特色，致力于通过博物馆展品翻译的质量来促进中国传统文化的传播。

论文共分为五个章节，第一章是引言，介绍南京博物院的历史与本文采用的展品翻译文本的基本信息。第二章总结南京博物院瓷器展品翻译文本的内容与特征。第三章是总结南京博物院时钟展品翻译文本的内容与特征。 第四章阐明展品翻译的特色及其优、缺点，并提出一些展品翻译的改进策略。第五章是结论部分，对全文进行总结。
