Abstract:The purpose of this thesis is to reveal the cultural implications in sports terms and their translation strategies, as well as some issues worthy of attention due to the specificity of sports terms, so as to make the translation consistent with pragmatic norms and contexts of the target language. Composing of three sections: introduction, main body and conclusion, this thesis is rendered mainly to delve into the cultural implications in sports terms and translation strategies. The introduction part presents the characteristics of sports terms and the purpose of this thesis. The main body is intended to introduce the cultural implications in sports terms and the general principles and strategies of sports terms. A brief summary of the thesis are offered in the conclusion. The findings show that transliteration and literal translation adopted by some media and people are not good translation strategies to convey the information in source language. Through generalizing related literature, this paper proposes that one suitable translation strategy for sports terms is free translation, which should be in accordance with the requirements of law and cognition. It should be pointed out that this article is of some significance to the translation practice in sports terms.

摘要: 本文目的在于揭示体育术语中的文化意蕴及其翻译策略，以及由于体育术语特殊性在翻译中需注意的问题，以使体育术语的翻译符合目标语的语用规范及语境。本文分为三部分：引言,正文和结论，旨在剖析体育术语背后的文化意蕴及其翻译策略。引言部分陈述了体育术语的基本特点和本论文的目的。正文详细阐述了体育术语的文化意蕴，体育术语基本翻译原则以及翻译策略。文末作简要小结。调查发现，一些媒体和个人常用的音译或直译的方式不能很好传达源语言的信息。经过分析，本文提出体育术语翻译要注重意译，并符合法律及认知要求。论文对相关体育术语翻译实践具有一定的指导意义。
